Consumer trends in Türkiye’s sports product market are evolving rapidly, with health-focused and tech-enhanced products leading the way. This insight is based on a comprehensive case study conducted by Homogram, which analyzed consumer preferences and market dynamics across four key sports product categories: sportswear, gear, nutrition, and wearables. The study evaluates trend growth, consumer perception, packaging and branding satisfaction, and price sensitivity—offering strategic guidance for product development and marketing. Figure 1 highlights the comparative performance of each category across four core metrics.

Notably, gear shows the highest sensitivity, indicating a need for more value-oriented strategies, while nutrition displays the lowest, offering more flexibility for premium pricing.

Why Does This Matter?

Consumers are embracing a more holistic approach to sports and fitness. Wearables, which help users track performance, recovery, and health data, are seeing the strongest market expansion. At the same time, nutrition products—such as supplements and functional foods—are earning the highest marks for consumer trust (27% positive perception), packaging satisfaction (28%), and brand loyalty (29%). These insights indicate a deepening integration of wellness and tech in athletic lifestyles.

For marketers and product developers, this means:

  • Nutrition is no longer just a support product—it’s a core part of the athlete identity and wellness journey.
  • Packaging and branding are critical, especially in the nutrition segment, where visual appeal and perceived quality heavily influence purchase behavior.
  • Price sensitivity is lowest for nutrition (5/10) and highest for gear (7/10), suggesting more flexibility for premium pricing in health-focused categories.
  • Gear and sportswear, while still essential, require targeted value propositions or promotional strategies due to moderate-to-high price sensitivity.

Homogram’s research confirms that performance, health, and usability are the new cornerstones of sports product success in Türkiye. If you’re a sportswear brand, supplement company, or wearable tech developer, you should be aligning your offerings with these behavioral shifts.
